VANILLA SHORT-BREAD BISCUITS.

Do you love biscuits but the fact that your spending way too much money on this snack is preventing from enjoying them? Well, I come bearing gifts with a homemade biscuits’ recipe that’s as good as or even better than the store-bought ones.


INGREDIENTS FOR 12 TO 15 BISCUITS.

150 Grams of wheat flour.

A pinch of salt

100 grams of margarine.

50 grams of caster sugar.

3 Drops of vanilla extract/essence.


METHOD.

1. Sieve the flour and salt

2. Mix the margarine and sugar with the flour.

3. Combine all the ingredients to a smooth paste.

4. Roll carefully on a floured table to a thickness of 0.5 cm. The dough should break very easily since it is a sugar pastry. It SHOULD NOT BE ELASTIC. Cut out respective shapes using as cookie cutter or a glass rim

5. Place on a greased baking sheet. Drizzle some cardamom powder on top.

6. Mark into the desired shape using a fork to prick

7. Bake in a moderate oven at 150 degrees for 25 to 20 minutes or until cooked.

8. Serve with your fav beverage.



PS: To make caster sugar at home if you don’t have the store bought one just grind some normal sugar using an electric grinder or using a rolling pin on flat surface.
